I'm getting this error on my printer. I was not printing at the time. I have unplugged and turned back on, but error comes back.

I also started getting this error a few days ago.  I found that I could get rid of it by holding down the on-off button until my 5200 started up again.  I was then able to print.  However, the error is recurring, especially if I don't print right away.

My exact printer is 5258. I typed incorrectly originally.

Mine is actually 5255.  I installed a new color cartridge because I wasn't getting color, despite being about 1/3 full.  I thought maybe it was an old cartridge that was the problem.  But nothing has changed.  As I mentioned earlier, I'm able to print if I do it right away after rebooting, but the error still recurs.

My error number on my Officejet 5258 is 0XB3D9DA2B but it seems to change.  If I restart the printer it works for awhile then goes back to the error code.  The scan and fix does not find the printer when the error message is blinking but as soon as I reboot the printer it finds the printer and says its fine.   I have removed and reinstalled the printer but the same problem occures,  As many of us have the same problem on about the same time has there been any software changes in late July?

I am getting the same error. Did anyone find a fix for this? Thanks.

Finally had a tec respond. I unplugged, waited, then replugged in. When I get screen without error, press the bottom left area of the screen twice. (It is back arrow button, but it is not highlighted).  Get to support menu, the semi-full reset. This resets the entire printer, and I have not had the error since.
