First troubleshoot:

Disconnect all power and communication cables from the printer and wait five minutes then plug in only the power and start the printer up.

49 error still present- You have an issue with the printer itself. Your next step would be to power down and perform an NVRAM reset. Turn the printer on, when the memory count starts, press and hold the down arrow until all the leds on the control panel are lit. Press Home and then press the up arrrow unit NVRAM Init is displayed then press OK. If device still has 49 error after this, with printer off, remove the formatter and power up. then press the engine test button and you should get a page out with vertical lines on it

If the device prints an engine test then you most likely have a failed formatter.

If the device comes to ready when disconnected from the computer then likely you have either a corrupted print job or out of date firmware. Clear all print queues for this printer and then reattach to computer. Go to support.hp.com and download and install the latest firmware on your printer and then try to print again.
