I have an HPDeskJet 2800e series printer.
It has been fantastic but I think that I was impatient and have formed a backlog of print jobs and now it tells me that "The printer is unavailable".How do I get rid of the backlog and start again please?

Hi @UrsulaC
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you're experiencing issues with a backlog of print jobs on your HP DeskJet 2800e series printer, you can clear the print queue to resolve the "The printer is unavailable" message. Here’s how you can do it:
For Windows:
Open Print Queue:
- Click on the Start button or press the Windows key.
- Type "Devices and Printers" and open it.
- Find your HP DeskJet 2800e printer, right-click on it, and select "See what's printing."
Clear Print Queue:
- In the print queue window, click "Printer" in the top menu.
- Select "Cancel All Documents."
- Confirm if prompted to cancel all print jobs.
Restart Printer and Computer:
- Turn off your printer and disconnect it from the power source for about 30 seconds.
- Restart your computer.
- Reconnect the printer and turn it back on.
For macOS:
Open Print Queue:
- Click on the Apple menu.
- Go to "System Preferences" and click on "Printers & Scanners."
- Select your HP DeskJet 2800e printer from the list on the left.
- Click "Open Print Queue."
Clear Print Queue:
- Click on each document in the queue and click "X" or delete to clear it.
Restart Printer and Computer:
- Turn off your printer and disconnect it from the power source for about 30 seconds.
- Restart your computer.
- Reconnect the printer and turn it back on.
Additional Steps:
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. You can find the latest drivers on the HP Support website.
- Network Issues: If you're using network printing, ensure your printer is connected to the network and try restarting your router.
By following these steps, you should be able to clear the backlog and address the printer availability issue.
