Hi @Terry0105,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the blinking lights.

The incoming connections light blinking on your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer typically indicates some form of network activity, whether wired or wireless. It could mean the printer is attempting to communicate with a device on the network or is in the process of receiving a print job. Here are a few common causes and solutions depending on the behavior of the blinking light:

1. Printer Trying to Connect to Wi-Fi

If you recently changed your Wi-Fi network or moved the printer, it may be trying to reconnect. The blinking light can indicate that it is looking for or failing to establish a stable connection.

  • Verify Wi-Fi Connection:
    • On the printer control panel, check the Wi-Fi settings and see if the printer is connected to the correct network.
    • You can print a Wireless Network Test Report or Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel to check the connection status.
    • If the printer is not connected, use the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect it to your network.

2. Waiting for Incoming Print Job

If your printer’s light is blinking and you have sent a print job, the blinking indicates that it is receiving data or waiting to print.

  • Check the Print Queue:
    • Make sure there is no issue with the print job being stuck in the print queue.
    • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, find your printer, and check if there are any jobs waiting to be printed.

3. Network Conflict or Error

Sometimes, the blinking could signal an issue with your network or printer's connection.

  • Restart Printer and Router:
    • Power cycle both your printer and your router.
    • Unplug the printer and router for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and see if the connection stabilizes.

4. Pending Firmware Update

If the printer's firmware is outdated, this could cause network or connection issues, which might manifest as a blinking light.

  • Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Go to HP’s support website and search for any available firmware updates for your HP Envy Photo 7855.
    • If an update is available, follow the instructions to install it.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Terry0105 ,

Please find the remaining steps below.

5. HP ePrint or Cloud Print Services

If your printer is connected to a service like HP ePrint, Google Cloud Print, or similar, it may be awaiting or receiving an incoming print job over the internet, causing the light to blink.

  • Check HP ePrint Settings:
    • Ensure that there are no pending ePrint jobs.
    • You can log into your HP ePrint account to check if there are any pending tasks that the printer is trying to process.

6. Connection Problem with USB Cable or Wired Connection

If the printer is connected via USB or Ethernet, the blinking light may indicate a connection problem.

  • Check the Connection:
    • Ensure that the USB or Ethernet cable is properly plugged into both the printer and the computer/router.
    • Try unplugging and re-plugging the cable or try a different cable to rule out any hardware faults.

for Resolution

  1. Restart the Printer and Router to refresh network connections.
  2. Reconnect to the Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard if the printer is disconnected.
  3. Check for and Cancel any Pending Print Jobs in the queue that might be causing the printer to hang.
  4. Update the Printer’s Firmware if it's outdated.
  5. Disable Unnecessary Network Features such as HP ePrint if you are not using them.

If the light continues to blink despite following these steps, it may be necessary to reset the network settings on the printer or even perform a factory reset.

I will share the reset steps in the next post.

Hi @Terry0105 ,

To factory reset your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer, you can follow these steps. A factory reset will restore the printer to its default settings, which can help resolve persistent issues, such as network or connectivity problems. However, note that this will also remove any custom settings (Wi-Fi networks, preferences, etc.) that you’ve configured on the printer.

Steps to Factory Reset HP Envy Photo 7855

Turn on the Printer:

  • Make sure your HP Envy Photo 7855 is powered on. If it is in sleep mode, press the power button to wake it up.

Access the Settings Menu:

  • On the printer's touchscreen, tap the Settings icon (usually represented by a gear or wrench symbol).

Navigate to Printer Maintenance:

  • Scroll through the menu and tap on Printer Maintenance or Tools (depending on the firmware version).

Reset to Factory Defaults:

  • Look for an option called Restore Factory Defaults or Restore Settings.
  • Tap on this option and confirm when prompted that you want to reset the printer to its factory default settings.

Confirm the Reset:

  • The printer will ask for confirmation before proceeding. Confirm that you wish to perform the reset.

Wait for the Printer to Reset:

  • The printer will restart during the reset process. This may take a couple of minutes. Once completed, the printer will be restored to its original factory settings.

After the Reset:

  • Reconfigure Wi-Fi: You will need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers (if necessary): If connected to a computer, ensure that the drivers are updated or reinstalled after the reset.

This should reset your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer to its factory defaults.
