Incompatible ink, warranty ended but no offer received to buy warranty

Incompatible ink message on printer. Tried replacing with 2 new instant ink cartridges, been through cleaning contacts via support call, tried to  copy a page with each cartridge in individually Following process via tech support. Printer just out of warranty but I was never offered option to buy a warranty. Can't really find a telephone option for supper. Spent nearly 3 hours on WhatsApp support Saturday and mother hour on a Twitter support convo today. The only solution can't be that the printer is only fit for the bin. It's only 15 months old.
