HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

For the past few days, my HP Deskjet 2600 All-in-one series printer has continuously shown the information button lit up. Even without connecting or sending any print job, the information button appears in orange.

In HP Connected, everything appears to be correct, and the settings indicate that everything is OK. However, this prevents me from printing or scanning.

I've tried reinstalling it, printing the information sheet (which didn't solve anything), and configuring it in different ways, but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you solve it?

-------

Hi @2600User

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where the Info button on your HP DeskJet 2600 is continuously lit in orange, and the printer is not responding to print or scan jobs, even though it seems connected and everything looks correct in HP Connected.

This can be frustrating, but there are a few common causes and troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

The most common cause of an orange Info button is a paper jam or some obstruction in the printer that prevents it from working properly. Even if you can't see a jam, it’s worth checking all paper paths carefully.

  • Open the cartridge access door and gently check for any paper stuck inside the printer.
  • Look at the paper tray and ensure no paper is jammed.
  • Check the output tray to make sure there's no paper blocking the path.
  • If you do find a jam, carefully remove it and reset the printer.

2. Reset the Printer

Sometimes, a simple reset can clear errors and bring the printer back to normal operation.

  • Power off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in, and turn the printer on again.
  • Check to see if the Info button is still lit orange.

3. Check Ink Cartridges

An issue with the ink cartridges can also cause the Info button to stay on.

  • Open the cartridge access door and ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly.
  • Check if the cartridges are genuine HP cartridges and are not running low on ink.
  • If you have recently replaced the cartridges, make sure they are installed properly, and check for any protective tape or packaging that was not removed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
