Hi,

This is my first post so I hope I have put this in the right place.

I am using my 7500 to attempt to print pages for my stamp album but because the paper is slightly shiny the ink isn't drying. The media type is set as plain paper I think this may be the cause  but what should I set the media type to?

It has a sort of matt shine to it, it is nowhere near as glossy as photo paper but must be lightly coated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yep after playing around found that describing media type as 'Brochure and reducing the ink drying time slider as far to left as possible has solved the problem.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Do you know the brand and name of the media that you are using?

If it's Brochure media, then you can select Brochure, else if it's closer to Photo papers, you can try "Other Photo Papers" if there is such and option.

Also, using other non-HP branded media, the print quality may not be optimal nor wll there be gurantee that the ink will work with the media (hence  the issue you are seeing).

Hope that helps!

The paper is designed for use in a postage stamp album so can't be more helpful this is where my problem begins because i believe it is almost as though it is sprayed with a sort of protective coating to avoid damage to the stamps.

Might just have to play around with the media settings till I find one that works.
