I have an HP Office Jet Pro 8710 Printer.

?Can you install HP952XL Color Ink Cartridges?

I can install (and have installed) an HP952XL Black ink cartridge, but there does not seem to be enough room in  the ink jet cartridge caddy that holds  the ink for the HP952XL color ink cartridges?

Am I correct?

If so... Can you get a bigger ink jet cartridge caddy?

If so, What is the part number?

Thanks,

Brad in Seattle

WOW.... Thanks for the speedy reply-

The black HP 952XL cartridge is thicker than the color cartridges provided by HP. Are the color 952XL cartridges smaller in width than than the black HP 952XL cartridge?

Thanks,

Hi,

Physically HP 952 Black and HP 942XL black have same dimensions, only the volumes of inks inside (and the chip) are not the same. Therefore it should be perfect fit.

The compatible list

 HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 (M9L74A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 (D9L64A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet 8702 (M9L81A) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8216 (T0G70A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 (D9L20A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 (K7S42A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 (M9L66A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 (M9L75A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format (G5J38A#B1H) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 (J6X78A) ; HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 (J7A28A)

The 952XL color cartridges do fit in the existing holder in the Officejet Pro 8710.  Unlike the black which have a physically larger XL cartridge, the color xl and standard cartridges are the same physical size.  The color XL cartridges do contain more ink, they are rated at 1600 pages vs 700 for the standard color cartridges.
