I ran low on my black ink and replaced the cartridge. Now I see a message. "Only one set of Instant Link Ready cartridges can be used in a printer. Remove and replace with other cartridges. Even though the other colors were not at seriously low levels, I replaced them all. I am still getting the same message. I would think you can change one color cartridge at a time, as needed, instead of having to install ALL 4 colors whether needed or not.
Please help. thank you

Hello @Magraz,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I will certainly do my best to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. Do you have more than one printer?
Where did you get this ink from?
This error message indicates that you're trying to use starter cartridges (trial subscription) in your printer when it has already been initialized.
Do the cartridges say "Trial Subscription" on them? If they do you, you will not be able to use those in your printer, they were meant to set up another printer. The ink cartridges that come with Instant Ink say "Subscription" on them.
You do not need to replace all of the ink at once, only when they get low.
Please view the steps within this guide:
In the event that you have defective ink cartridge, please send me a private message with your account number or email address and I would be happy to look into sending you a replacement. Also, confirm that the address on your account is correct. 🙂

The blue, yellow and magenta cartridges were the originals in this new printer. I replaced the black only and then received that message. I am in the process of replacing BYM cartridges. All is OK now that I have replaced the BYM colors. Thank you for your assistance. The printer is working fine again.
