I just need to figure out how to sign up for the instant ink, but I don't see my printer listed. I only bought it last year and the HP sales guy said I could do it, but I can't find it, and the phone number says they should be open, but keeps hanging up on me.

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

I think that you are right by saying that the printer is in that range of models.And by looking at the ink on the 2 models you will find that they use the same cartridges.Hope this helps.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. I wanted to do Instant Ink, but my printer was not compatible. So I clicked on the "buy compatible printers" button and bought one that it recommended (6978) but then when I went to get the instant ink for it, 6978 is not listed! So I am assuming 6978 is in the 6970 series, but I don't want to buy this if I am wrong.

I'm out of town right now, but I ordered the instant ink for the 6970 series as was suggested. I will let you know in the next day or two (assuming it's there when I get home)
