HP Envy 7858

I just set this printer up today and it sounds like when the scanner resets back to the home positoin, it makes this little grinding/rattling noise.  I just ran the scanner and it moves across quietly, but I could see when it went back it made this noise.  Is that normal?

It is normal if that sound lasts a short 1-2 second. Scanner reached an end of his position sensor and then he moves some more to opposite side to start position.

No, it makes a rattling type of noise the entire time it takes for the scanner to back to the start position.

The speed of the scanner when returning to start is faster than when scanning and the sound is different like rattling.

That sounds right. So you're saying that this is normal? Thanks.

Just thought I'd report back.  Since I bought this at Costco, I just picked up another one and it does not make that noise.  So maybe something was loose in there or something.
