I would like to know if there is a way to get the "See What's Printing" onto the taskbar by itself without being grouped in with a bunch of other icons. It used to be that the printer showed up on the taskbar once printing began. I am trying to do this so I can cancel a print job. The "X" on the printer screen does not work. It's on the taskbar, but like I said earlier it's bunched in with a few other icons and by the time you get to it the job has already printed. This isn't a way HP can get you to use the ink, is it? Or just bad programming?

Hi,
It's nothing to do with its programming, it is up to your Windows Taskbar configuration.
You may set your OS to keep it in the System Tray as following:
Click the start button and then the Gear (Settings) Icon.
Click on Devices and then Printers & Scanners.
Click your printer name and select Manage, then click Print Test Page.
As it prints, right-click the system tray, where the time and date are shown, and select Taskbar settings.
Under Notification area press on 'Select which icons appear on the taskbar' and toggle on the Windows Explorer option with the printer icon.
Now it will always appear in the system tray when printing.
