Hello shenschel,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
You would be able to either use the steps I offered in the fourth message on this forum (substituting Smartphone for your computer), or you can use the printer software and a USB cable.

Hey yelp,
Can you answer the below please?
- Is the printer connected to the same wireless network that the computer is?
- What is the computer, Windows, including version, e.g. Windows 7 or Mac, including version, e.g. 10.8
- Is the printer in an error state?
- Is the computer able to see the printer during the adding steps, or is not listed at all?
- Are you able to add the printer via USB?

Hello LMay1,
So, you are having an issue scanning with a Mac and the Officejet 8620, is that correct? Are you trying to scan with the Embedded Web Server, HP software, Mac software or from the printer front panel?
What printer and phone are you working with?
