HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I am trying to print using the HP Everyday Business Paper 8.5x11 in 32lb Glossy Paper. When I go to print it, I select HP Glossy Brochure or Professional Paper and I  also selected this paper on the Printer. I am able to print a service report on this paper with the 9210e Series printer, however, I cannot get my PDF to print. When I try to print, nothing happens, but every once in a while gives me an error code, but I can't get it to come back up to make a note of it. All I remember is that it was generic and just said it can't print. No detail as to why. The HP App keeps asking me to put in my PIN randomly. Also I noticed that I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e, but what is showing in my HP app is HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e Series- not sure if this matters. I've checked the driver, updated my computer, checked the network, still nothing is working. Please help!! I have no idea what I am doing wrong or what to fix

@HahnHosp, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Thanks for the detailed explanation — that really helps to narrow things down. Let's walk through your situation step-by-step to troubleshoot the issue and hopefully get you printing smoothly again.

Check Driver Specificity

Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners

Find HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e Series

Click Remove device

Now, go to HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Download and install the full-feature software and Drivers (not just the basic one)

Reboot after install

Use the Correct Paper Type and Tray Settings

Even if selected on screen, the glossy setting may confuse the printer, especially for PDF files.

Open the HP Smart App

Go to Printer Settings > Paper Handling or Tray and Paper Management

Manually assign Tray 1 to HP Glossy Brochure Paper (or similar)

Try changing the print setting in Adobe Reader or whatever PDF viewer you're using to "Plain Paper" just to test (it may bypass paper-type conflicts)

Restart Print Spooler (Windows):

  1. Search services in the search box. Open the service menu.
  2. In the list, find Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.
    1. If it’s stopped, click Start instead.
  4. Close the window. Check if the issue persists

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
