I had issues figuring out how to print from my Chromebook 311 to my HP printer. To avoid having to plug your computer into your printer directly, just make sure your printer is on and connected to your WiFi, and that your printer has been added as one of your devices under your computers settings menu. Settings>Device>Print. You should see your computer listed, if it is connected to WiFi, or you may have to manually add it with its unique IP address which you can find if you print off an information page by clicking the i button on your printer.
Just in case someone else is having issues figuring out how to get their new Chromebook to "Print"...Once you have clicked "Print" or Ctrl+P, the Print options box will show . The first option, or near the top of the options on the right hand side, there should be a drop down menu labeled "Destination". It should show "Save as PDF" or list of other options or a Printer name, and "See More". Click on "See More" if you do not see your printer listed, then select your printer (that is added to your Chromebook) by clicking on your chosen printer TWICE. That should allow you to see a "Print" option, and not a "Save" option, on the bottom right corner! Hope that helps others. I realize this is not a Chromebook or Acer site, but is the HP site. This site had another question similar to mine, but the help/answer was not there. Hopefully this will pop up for others who have similar questions with HP or other printers!
