Step 1: Check the Printer Status

  1. Paper and Ink Levels: Ensure there is paper in the tray and the ink cartridges are not empty or low.
  2. Error Messages: Look for any additional error codes or messages on the printer display that could indicate the cause.

Step 2: Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Step 3: Check the Print Queue

  1. On your Windows 11 computer, open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select the HP ENVY 4520 and click Open Queue.
  3. Clear any stuck print jobs by right-clicking and selecting Cancel.

Step 4: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  4. Reinstall the cartridges securely.

Step 6: Update Printer Firmware

Step 7: Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
  2. Wait for 2-3 minutes.

Step 8: Check for Software Conflicts

Ensure your printer software is installed correctly:

  1. Uninstall the HP ENVY 4520 from your computer.

Step 9: Test Printing

Print a test page:
