HP Officejet Pro 6978. FIRST, I connected it to my MAC with a cable, and it has never worked. It is still literally brand new.  SECOND, I had it plugged in to a power strip, which I turned off while the printer was on. Now when I turn it on, it tells me it was turned off improperly. Then it tells me there is a paper jam. A thorough check reveals no paper jam. It always ends with error code 0x6100004a.  I have gone through all the procedures. I have installed two drivers to no avail. The carriage is trapped on the right except when it's doing the maintenance  routine when I turn it on.

@soaggravated, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document '0xc19a0005' or Similar Error Code Displays and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
