ive forgot my passwoed for my envy 5540 series printer, how do i reset it

Just print out the Network Config Page to see your password from the front panel.  Cut it out and tape it to the top of the printer.

You can touch the Wireless icon on the Printer to get the password.

On the front panel concerning my password on my HP envy 5542.  I hit Wireless selection.

Which one do I select for my password. Is it the host name or the Mac name?

1) Have you tried your router's password?

2) Can you please send us a picture of the screen asking you to enter the password?

3). Could you let me know what device are you trying to connect ? Is it to a PC or mobile device.

If the Wi-Fi password does not work, this could be the Wireless Direct password. Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Try the default password - 12345678.

If the default password does not work, please print a Network Configuration page and look for a Wi-Fi or a Wireless Direct password.

Step 2  To print a Network Configuration page - 

1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch (Settings).

2. Touch Print Report and then touch Network Configuration Page

Note - The Wi-Fi or Wireless direct will connect the devices that you are trying to print from to the printer's Wi-Fi instead of your home Wi-Fi and due to that you will have to keep switching from your home Wi-Fi to your printer's Wi-Fi.
