Office Jet Pro 8720
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Just installed 8720 and cannot find the driver duplexing option in the printer dialog box.  I used the HP easy start option but on the disk that came with the printer is did not include OS Sierra 10.12.  Do I have to do an upgrade to get the duplexing driver?

Hi @Weeviler,

I understand that the two-sided printing option in Adobe and Open Office does not integrate with Microsoft Word and hence you need to create a new pdf or open office document for two-sided printing.

This could be one of the limitations and may get updated in the future version of Microsoft Word for Mac.

I also appreciate your time and patience.

Hi @Weeviler,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with duplex printing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the print settings are not correct.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

And here are a few steps in the link: How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Mac) (Duplexing)

Let me know if this works.

Thank you Rainbow 23 - I looked at the HP video for automatic duplexing and re checked my printer in the list.  The printer options information box does not contain the two sided checkbox so I assume it is already installed.

As I said in my update post to this problem, it is all down to 'Microsoft Word for Mac' - the clever people at Adobe and Open Office have included a two sided checkbox in the printer dialog box.

A lttle frustrating but I now have to create a PDF each time I double side print or create the doc in OO.

I  install all the Word updates as they occur so maybe one day Microsoft will include the two side checkbox in an update.

Have a good one!
