1: Cancel All Print Jobs & Restart Print Spooler

Stop the Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Stop.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open File Explorer and navigate to:
  • Delete all files in this folder.

Restart Print Spooler:Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Try printing again and check if the issue persists.

 

2: Check for Corrupt Print Jobs from Other Devices

  1. Disconnect the printer from the network (Wi-Fi/Ethernet).
  2. If the issue stops, a network device may be sending unwanted print requests.
  3. Check other computers or print servers on the network for stuck print jobs.
  4. Reinstall drivers on affected computers.

3: Disable Keep-Alive in Printer Settings

Some printers allow disabling Keep-Alive requests to prevent repeated printing.

Access the Printer’s Web Interface

  • Find the printer's IP address (Control Panel > Network Settings > View IP Address).
  • Enter the IP address in a web browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).

Disable Keep-Alive (if available)

  • Look under Network > Advanced Settings or IPP Settings.
  • Disable Keep-Alive or IPP Printing.
  • Save changes and restart the printer.

4: Change the Printer Port in Windows

  1. Go to Devices and Printers (Control Panel > Devices and Printers).
  2. Right-click the MF451dw printer and select Printer Properties.
  3. Navigate to the Ports tab.
  4. If the printer is using an IPP port, switch it to Standard TCP/IP Port:
    • Click Add Port > Standard TCP/IP Port > New Port.
    • Enter the printer's IP address and follow the prompts.
  5. Click Apply and OK, then restart the printer.

5: Reinstall the Printer Driver

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer and select Remove Device.
  3. Go to HP Support and download the latest PCL6 driver for your printer.
  4. Install the driver and set it as the default printer.

6: Disable Internet Printing Client in Windows

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off.
  2. Find Internet Printing Client and uncheck it.
  3. Click OK and restart your computer.

7: Check for Unauthorized Print Requests

  1. If your printer is network-connected, check if it's receiving jobs from unauthorized sources.
  2. Disable Direct IPP Printing on the printer’s settings page.
  3. Enable Access Control in the printer’s web interface (if available).

8: Factory Reset (If Issue Persists)

  1. Go to the printer's Control Panel > Setup > Service > Restore Defaults.
  2. Choose "Reset Factory Settings".
  3. Reconfigure the printer and test printing again.
