Hi @lalarkin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're encountering an error code starting with "OXO" on your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer, it typically indicates a problem with the printer. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the rear, and wait for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer, and check if the error persists.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions. If you find any, carefully remove the jammed paper and ensure there are no torn pieces left behind.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve the error. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Setup" or "Settings" menu, look for the "Restore Defaults" option, and select it. Follow the prompts to reset the printer.
- Update Firmware: Visit the official HP support website (https://support.hp.com) and search for your printer model. Look for any available firmware updates and download/install them according to the provided instructions. Updating the firmware can often fix known issues and improve printer performance.
- Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. If the cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones. Clean the cartridge contacts and the printhead to ensure good electrical connectivity.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
