LCD on printer not working. I get just a grey screen. I have tried the firmware upgrade, rebooting my modem and printer with no success. Is this something that happens with the HP printers after the warranty is done? I've tried everything, cannot fax or scan because I cannot access the LCD screen.

With the power on, unplug the unit from the wall outlet.  Wait 10 mins.  Plug the unit back into the wall outlet not using any power strip or surge protector.  Power the unit up if it does not.  Status now?

Do this 3-4 times.  If the same error occurs, your printer needs service.

Thank you for this assistance. I performed this action and the screen came on. Unfortunately, I used an extension cord and it did not remain visible for long. I am now going to plug into the wall outlet itself and see if this strong current is enough to keep the LCD functional. Will let you know. Thanks again.
