HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I've been printing labels for years with HP printers - the one I have now is about 3 years old. All of a sudden labels get jammed - same labels I've always used. Paper prints fine. I got a new computer a few months ago and when I look at the printer connected it shows HP 9010 but my printer is HP 9015. It auto-detected with the new computer and has been working great until yesterday.

Hi @3Virginiacats,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with label printing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-In-One Printer, and there might be a couple of reasons for this problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

Check Label Quality:

  • Ensure that you are using high-quality, undamaged labels.
  • Make sure the labels are not curled, folded, or sticking together.

Check Paper Settings:

  • Confirm that the paper settings on both your computer and the printer match the type of labels you are using. Incorrect settings may lead to jams.
  • Open the printer properties on your computer and verify the paper type and size settings.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Over time, paper dust and debris can accumulate on the printer rollers, leading to feeding issues. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015. You can visit the HP website to download and install the most recent drivers.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a minute, and then turn them back on. This can help clear any temporary glitches.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

Verify Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is securely connected to your computer, either through a USB cable or via a stable wireless connection.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Even if the labels are getting jammed, it's good to check for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be causing the issue.

Regarding the name discrepancy between HP 9010 and HP 9015 on your computer, this is likely just a naming convention or model grouping used by the printer driver. The essential thing is that the driver is working correctly with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Having done all that before posting I gave up and got a new printer. Apparently HP Printers have a shelf life.
