Hi
We have a normal windows pc which is connected to the printer via cable and we can print fine, but our laptop, which is connected via wifi keeps saying the printer is offline and when I run the scan dr it says we have error 704, but doesn't tell me what that is.
Can anybody help please as I can't seem to contact HP to get their help. I have been through the virtual assistant and that's ***bleep*** and run scan dc on both the pc and the laptop. I'm just a home user, so nothing to complicated please.
Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand you are getting this error while printing from Windows computer, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did you make any changes to your printer?
- Are you able to print from other devices?
- Are the printer and laptop connected to the same wireless network?
- What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi
In answer to your questions, please see below - thanks
- Did you make any changes to your printer? No
- Are you able to print from other devices? Yes
- Are the printer and laptop connected to the same wireless network? Yes
- What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)? Steady
The printer is connected to the main PC and printing works fine from there. When I print from my laptop it tells me that the printer is offline, when it isn't. It seems to push the print through after about 3 days, whci is a bit useless.
Thanks

Use the HP printer and Scan doctor to fix several types of problems automatically that cause the printer to go offline.
Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Thank you for posting back.
Let's try this:
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
Keep me posted for further assistance.
