Finally found something that seems to have worked. You can find the full process here https://www.groovypost.com/howto/fix-print-spooler-errors-on-windows-11/#:~:text=Press%20Windows%20k...
Clear Print Spooler Files on Windows 11
Another option is to clear pending or corrupt print jobs that could be causing the problem. For example, you can delete the files manually and restart the service to fix the problem.
To clear print spooler files on Windows 11:
- Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog.
- Type services.msc and hit Enter or click OK
- Right-click the Print Spooler service and select Stop from the menu.
- Launch File Explorer and navigate to the following path:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS - Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder – do not delete the PRINTERS folder, only the files within it.
- Exit out of File Explorer, right-click Print Spooler in the Services window, and select the Start option from the menu.
Now that potentially corrupt print jobs are cleared, start your print job again, and it should work without print spooler errors appearing.

I have the exact same issue with my colour Laser Jet Pro MFP M377dw printer. I followed the instructions you listed above but unable to access and view the contents of the printer folder in c:windows/system32/spool/printers to delete?

Thanks for the above. I have an empty system32.spool.printer folder??
All these problems seem to be arising on the same date-ish??
I have reset the printer, deleted all the software and reinstalled it for the HP site??

This problem is a pain and I have experienced it also with the M201dw. I fixed it by deleting the printer and then downloading the recommended "full HP installation software from March 4, 2021." I then ran that exe to install the printer drivers. Letting windows install the drivers seems to be the problem. When I started with the HP setup it fixed the problem.
Hope that helps. I tried all the other Windows update stuff and printer firmware and none of it worked.
