I have a LaserJet Pro M255dw 52 and it says it has a 'Laser Scanner Error'. It doesn't have a scanner, so I'm assuming its a sensor that detects 'something' that isn't working. How do I fix this?

the scanner is the internal  laser device that writes the information to the drum units on the cartridges and is where Laserjets get their name. I am not 100% sure on this particular model but most small HP units use a single laser and have 4 mirrors to write data to the four color cartridges. Power issues can cause scanner problems so be sure to plug directly into the wall and not into a surge protector or UPS.
