475 pages and then I hear a clicking sound like gears jumping teeth and 59.C0 error that will not clear and no paper jams or issues. Only 475 pages printed and it is dead

Hi @SEarle56,
I'd like to help!
Ideally, a 59.C0 error indicates Developer motor rotation error. This is a hardware failure.
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue - 'Install Black Cartridge' Displays.
If the issue persists, please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The issue I am experiencing not only the failure code but also audible chatter from internal drive components that precedes the fault code being displayed. I have reached out to support and there are no good options other than buying a new printer. I have passed 475 pages through this device and in my experience and being an Ex HP employee I expected a lot more longevity from the device and so I did not purchase an extended warranty. My mistake as the original one had lapsed and there are no options to replace it per the warranty extension program. I tried but failed to buy one after the fact and my only option is to buy a new printer, but I think you understand that based upon the early failure I will look at others.
The failure is internal and mechanical and audible and now I have to find an alternative and that if you pardon my crude language sucks. I have an HP Laptop that I should have learned from that had a hard drive failure about 1 month after warranty expiration. I fixed it myself and despite what the manual said I put in an SSD in tandem with the built in Optane drive and it works flawlessly. As I mentioned before I worked for HP in a global position directly involved with service, warranties etc when HP and Compaq merged on the storage side and I have been in Service & Support since I started in 1976. Going forward I will hesitate when asked if I would choose HP as a vendor of Choice unless one is willing to buy an extended warranty along with it as the one from the mfg is questionable in it's delivery.
In closing HP support had no answers unless I had an extended warranty and they would swap the device, I advise people on Amazon to out of self protection to buy one unless the device is considered disposable and not a piece of business critical equipment
Respectfully,
Steve
