For the longest time, this printer worked like a gem with no issues. For some reason, now almost every time I go to print I get an error. I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and I always get that one of the options I need to do to get it corrected is to power cycle the printer. Magically, I unplug the printer, let it sit for 15 or 20 seconds, plug it back, and the job prints with no issue. It's an easy temporary fix and isn't difficult to do, but it's a pain in the neck to have to do it almost every time I want to print something. Thank you for any guidance on how to resolve this. Thank you

Hi,
First, make sure the printer is directly connected to a wall socket and not to any power strips, surge protectors, insufficient power may cause such behavior.
Also be sure to clarify how the printer is connected to your computer, is it connected to a Wireless network, to a router with an Ethernet cable, or with USB to a computer?

Hello,
Thank you for the response.
Yes, the printer is plugged directly into the wall.
The printer is connected to a wireless router.
It's worth noting that I have had this printer for a few years now with the same set up and this issue just recently started happening. The good news is that unplugging it and plugging git back in seems to almost always fix the issue. The bad news is that something obviously is wrong and doing that every time you want to print is a pain.
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for clarifying @SWB73,
Although no visible changes occur, there might be other causes such as network changes, unnecessarily known due to auto router updates, etc.
Please print and evaluate a Wireless Network Test Report as listed below:

May you see any warning or attention listed within the middle Troubleshooting section of the printed report?

Thank you for the feedback.
I just printed the report. The first 7 tests are all "Pass" and the signal strength is "excellent"
Disconnect count toal is 20
Disconnect count last 24 hours is 2
Disconnect last hour is 0
channel is 1
It also says that more than one access point/wireless router has been found that matches your wireless networks name. If this is unintended your HP printed right connect to the wrong wireless network.
Not sure what's going on with that message but we only have one network in our house that everything is connected to.
Thank you

Clarification: Does the printer still respond the the control panel when it refuses to print? Are you able to access the embedded web server while it will not print by typing the ip address into a browser address bar? If the answer is yes then the most common cause of your issue is that Microsoft has automatically changed the setup of your printer to use a WSD port for communication and these are notorious for losing connection. Using a Standard TCP/IP port is much more reliable. You can check the port type being used by doing the following on your computer:
Go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the ports tab and if a WSD port is create a new TCP/IP port and use the hostname of the printer as the port address so that even if the IP address changes, the computer should still find the printer./
