Hi @RavenENTP,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP LaserJet 1010 is experiencing a paper jam or misfeed issue, which can be due to several factors such as worn rollers, dirty sensors, or internal obstructions.
Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.
Check for Obstructions
- Open the printer and check for any small pieces of paper or debris that could be obstructing the paper path.
- Ensure there’s no buildup of dust or toner particles inside the printer.
Inspect the Rollers
- The paper pickup rollers may be worn or dirty, causing the paper to feed improperly and stop mid-print.
- Clean the rollers with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove any dust or residue.
- If the rollers look worn or cracked, they may need to be replaced.
Clean the Paper Path Sensors
- Sensors in the paper path might be dirty or malfunctioning, causing the printer to stop feeding paper.
- Carefully clean the sensors with a soft, dry cloth or use compressed air to remove any dust.
Ensure Proper Paper Loading
- Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and that there’s only one sheet in the feeder.
- Check the paper guides to ensure they are aligned properly, not too tight or too loose.
Firmware or Hardware Reset
- Sometimes a hard reset can resolve issues like this. To reset the printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Inspect Paper Type and Condition
- Ensure you're using the correct type and weight of paper for your printer.
- Warped, bent, or humid paper can cause feeding problems, so try using a fresh batch of paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
