Windows 11 Pro no longer recognises my HP Laserjet 1020. It used to work via the USB port on my desktop machine but I now receive an error message every time I try to print. The printer and cables are fine, it works perfectly when connected to an HP laptop we own, also running Windows 11 (the non-pro version).
Troubleshooting steps so far: Switched the pc and printer off and on multiple times, I have deleted the printer from system devices, as well as its driver package and registry entries.
Rebooted the pc and downloaded the complete driver package from the HP site. Installed the package via the auto-install dialogue as well as using the manual method (after deleting driver package etc again.)
Ran HP's own print troubleshooter, it couldn't connect to the printer.
Still no luck, so here I am... any thoughts or help as to what next please?
