Chrome OS

When I try to print from my Chromebook, I get an error message saying "Printer software problem. The printer software does not support the selected printer. Check for updates at your device's app market or contact the printer manufacturer".

 

My Chromebook recognizes the printer when connected to USB. I have already downloaded the HP Print for Chrome app from the webstore.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi,

HP Print for Chrome support select printer models only, as listed by below support document:

I am afraid that such a lower-end Host-Based printer is too limited and cannot be used with a Chromebook.

 

The only option I would think of is setting up a classic printer by connecting the printer to a Windows PC or a Mac computer, follow 'Connect a printer that’s not cloud-ready' below:
