I am connecting my printer with a USB cable. When I try to print a document the fist two pages are printed and then the printer stops. On my laptop the message is "unable to send data to printer".

I have tried turning the printer off, disconnecting power and reconnecting after several minutes but the problem persists.

@JeremyGC, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you have issues with printing from the computer to the printer. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-

ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update software on Mac

Also, try connecting the USB cable to a different port on the computer. If you're using an USB hub, disconnect and connect directly to the computer.

Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector.Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet to test. The surge protector or UPS may not be allowing sufficient voltage through to the printer.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
