Laserjet Pro M102W
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

My Laserjet Pro M102 was working well up to a few days ago (set up over wireless). All of a sudden the printer is reported off-line and the ready light is blinking (no other lights blink). That error code is not in the manual. The printer also doesnt make a wifi connection to the wifi router anymore. It also refuses to print its internal status page (pressing the relevant button for 2 seconds has no effect).

After plugging in the mains, it does respond to the power button, and I can hear some motors initializing. After that, the ready light starts blinking steadily and nothing more happens. I can only turn it ON and OFF.

I downloaded the HP software utility, but that program doesn't "see" the printer (also not on USB) so that process gets stuck. Same applies to the HP doctor software (HPPSdr) that also fails to connect over USB.

I read somewhere that the last resort is to re-install the flash inside the printer, but I cannot find the tool that can do that job. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting printer offline errors, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to fix connectivity and printing issues.

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

Assign a manual IP address and that should fix the issue.

Find the printer IP address to assign it manually.

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button  on the printer control panel, and then release it when the Ready light  blinks.

The Configuration Report and Network Summary (wireless models only) print.

Setting a Static IP Address

Once you know your printer’s IP address from the page you printed, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:

HP Printer Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wireless.
  5. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  6. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  7. Click Apply.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
