Laserjet Pro MFP M521dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Our Laserjet Pro MFP M521dw gives a 52 scanner error when printing, the print job gets cancelled. I have switched off the printer and removed the power lead for 30 seconds and this didn't solve the solution.

The scanner works perfectly and when printing a demo page directly from the printers menu it gives the same error.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

As per the update of the error 52 Scanner error
Its the issue with the Laser Scanner assembly of the printer
This is the Main Brain of the printer in Imaging and printing
We would request you to either Take the printer to nearby HP Service Center

if the printer has onsite contract existing to get the LSA replaced.

Hi

The product has experienced a scanner error.

Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize. If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the product directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn the product on.
If the issue persists, keep the printer turned Off for 3 mins and turn it back ON.
If the Issue persists service the printer.

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Hi VK14,

Thank you for the quick response. I have done all this already.

By servicing you mean bring it to a service center to be diagnosed? I'm quite handy myself and will be able to replace the part, as long as I know which part needs to be replaced.

Thanks!

Hi!

Thank you for the reply, If all the Troubleshooting steps has been performed then it could be an issue with the Laser Scanner Assembly (part RM1-6322).

Hi Tamvet,

It's a fairly simple task if you have some technical skills. You just need to remove some screws and disconnect some connectors.

I have used the repair manual from the following link:

http://www.lbrty.com/tech/Manuals_HP/M521rm.pdf

Good luck!
