My wireless MFP has suddenly stopped working. It is connected to the wireless network.
I have tried printing from :
- a Windows 10 enterprise laptop
- An iphone 13 running ios 17.7
- A macbook pro running Sequoia 15.0.1
It worked just fine last week and now does not. Jobs sit there in the print center and go no where.
I have tried rebooting the router (the printer reconnected and printed half a job - then stopped)
I tried downloading the HP Smart app to my mac to run a diagnosis and the app says there's nothing wrong with the printer.
I have just rebooted the printer again and now it can't connect to the network.

Hi @Daisy_Hawke,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw may be experiencing connectivity issues that are preventing it from printing consistently across your devices. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide to try and resolve the issue.
Restart All Devices
- Power cycle the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and powering it on.
- Reboot your router: You've already done this, but ensure that your printer reconnects properly to the network after rebooting. Make sure to wait until the router is fully up before turning on the printer.
- Restart your devices: Reboot the Windows laptop, iPhone, and MacBook.
Check Network Connection
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi: Since the printer lost its connection after the reboot, you need to reconnect it. Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the wireless settings and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Verify the network details: Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the signal strength is strong enough (you can place it closer to the router for testing purposes).
- Check for dual-band conflicts: If your router is dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure the printer is connected to the 2.4 GHz band, as many printers are not compatible with 5 GHz.
Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware check: Ensure the printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the printer’s settings or by visiting the HP support site for the LaserJet MFP M127fw.
Clear Print Queues
- Windows 10:
- Go to "Devices and Printers," right-click on your printer, and select "See what's printing."
- Cancel all pending jobs.
- Mac:
- Open "System Preferences," select "Printers & Scanners," and open the print queue for the LaserJet M127fw.
- Cancel any jobs stuck in the queue.
- iPhone:
- Double-check the print queue in the AirPrint menu and clear any pending jobs.
Reconnect Printer on Your Devices
- Re-add the printer on each device (Windows, Mac, iPhone):
- Windows: Go to "Devices and Printers," remove the printer, and re-add it.
- Mac: In "Printers & Scanners," remove and re-add the printer.
- iPhone: Forget the printer in the AirPrint settings and rediscover it when trying to print.

Use IP Address to Add Printer (Mac/Windows)
- If the printer still has trouble connecting wirelessly, try manually adding the printer via its IP address:
- On your printer, find the IP address by printing a network configuration report (from the printer's control panel).
- Mac: Go to "Printers & Scanners," click the "+" button, and choose "IP" to add the printer manually using its IP address.
- Windows: In "Devices and Printers," choose to add a new printer and select "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address."
Reset Printer Network Settings
- If the connection issues persist, try resetting the network settings on the printer and then reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi. You can do this from the printer's control panel under "Network Settings" → "Restore Defaults."
Check Router Settings
- Ensure that no firewall or security settings on your router are blocking communication with the printer.
- Some routers have a setting like "AP isolation" or "client isolation" that might prevent the printer from communicating with other devices. Make sure this feature is disabled.
USB Testing
- If the wireless issue persists, temporarily connect the printer via USB to your Mac or Windows device to check if printing works correctly through a direct connection. This will help rule out hardware issues with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have already taken all of the steps recommended by the HP Employees, except those related to network connections, because my printer is directly connected to my computer via USB.
I have tried it on two different Windows 10 computers. I have reloaded, restarted, etc., multiple times.
I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from HP.
One other important variation: The scanner on the MFP device works just fine. It scans documents and sends them to my computer. So the connection for scanning is fine. But the MFP will not print and it will not copy. When I try to copy, I get a message saying "Copy Pending" and then nothing happens. Except that the green scan/copy light keeps flashing until I turn of the printer and reset it. Any ideas?
