I am getting a 59.c0 error when the printer starts.

I have verified that the main motor on the right side of the printer, is turning and there are no strange noises.

Is this the same as the developer motor?

If not, where is the developer motor and what does it drive?

Is the imaging drum the same as the developer?  Is there a motor inside that as well?

Does this error need to be reset manually, or will it reset when the problem clears?

Is there a service manual available for download and/or purchase?

Thank You

Bill

Welcome to the HP support community.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Let me know how it goes.

Well no go.

It did initialize once and I got the ready.

Then I tried to print a form (built in form), and immediately go the 59.c0 error.

I was able to try and print a form, but the image was blank except very light lines (I was printing notebook paper) and then got the 59.c0 error.  This happened a couple of times when the printer did initialize.

This is getting frustrating.

Is there another motor for the "developer"?  The only motor that I can find is the main geartrain motor.

There are 3 solenoids that operate clutches, and a leaf switch in the gear train.  I just wanted to get the service manual to make sure that the gear train is operating like it should.

I was asking for the SERVICE manual, not the USER manual.

Thanks for your help!

Another question.....

What is used to determine "developer motor rotation"?

There is no service manual available for printers. Also, there is no documents/info available on the hardware components of the printer.

If you have tried the steps and the issue persists, Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

For more info on resolving errors on the printer, refer to the articles available here.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

WOW!.. no documentation on the printer?  What do the service techs use to repair the printer then?

If I cannot repair my printer, it would not be worth it to send it in for repair then.

Probably cheaper just to purchase a new one.

This is now my project printer.  Too bad because I do like it, but if the support isn't there, my time is more valuable and a new printer is pretty cheap, whether HP/Brother/Cannon.  I am not a HP fanboy.

My warranty ended in March 2020 also, so not worth service.  oh well...

The printers are serviced by HP certified technicians. If the printer is out of warranty, you may take it to a local repair shop for repair/service.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
