HP Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Good Morning to All,

Has HP ever solved the inability to print to the left edge of a size 10 envelope with the officejet pro 8610?

I have found numerous complaints over the past five years, with some users finding their own individual workarounds.

Still, after recently purchasing an Envy 7640 over the weekend, just to test for similar issues, low & behold, it happened with this printer as well.

Does anyone know for sure at this point,  whether this is a printer head issue, or is it software related & did HP actually

create a "smart fix" app to correct this envelope printing issue? I read that there was an app out there somewhere, but haven't been able to find it.

Thanks for your help.

The 8610 print magins for the left & right is set to .65 inch for envelopes.

That's Correct, & that is the problem when trying to print to the edge. .65 is not at the edge.  It appears that, after even further research today, with the exception of trying to install perhaps an earlier deskjet 9800 print driver, & then, with even further tweaking with MS Word, that MAYBE this problem will be solved. I'm continuing to read about a lot of failures though, & disappointed users.

HP has had five years to fix this problem on one of their flagship models.

It may be time for another brand of printer that does not have this isssue.

At this point, I'm looking real closely at the new  "Canon Pixma G4200 Megatank, & what the sale price will be in a couple of months. Bye bye instant ink payments of 10.61 per month, including interest. And I may even get better photo print quality along with it.

What's not to like, when HP shamefully ignores their home consumer users & focuses mainly on their corporate customers.

Thank you for your response.

Hi @frederickfiore

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.

They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

received a private message from an HP Support rep, to whom I correctly responded.

The email response was kicked back to me by HP, saying " that the e-mail address you are replying to is not monitored

and we are unable to respond to your message.

If you have received a Private message in our forum and you want to reply to this private message please sign in

to our forum, go to the Private Message you want to reply to and click on it. You will see the Reply

button at the bottom right of the private message."

In other words, this is NOT a private message. "Just go back to the forum & repost your message says HP".

Is it any wonder why HP home users become so angry with HP's lack of attentions to their concerns.

My "so-called private email" that I received was NOT private, & HP has ignored me. How nice, considering that

I have been employed by MarketSource-HP, & in the past have defended HP numerous time against customer

complaints with similar concerns of being ignored by HP.

Just another issue that will be swept under the rug by HP.
