Please help! I get a black line when I copy or when I scan, both when I use the flatbed and when I use the ADP. The line does NOT appear when I print a document from my computer, so I don't think it is the printer mechanism or the toner, especially since it appears when I scan a document into my computer and no printing is involved. I have cleaned both the flatbed glass and the ADP glass in the appropriate location of the line. I am puzzled because the line appears whether I use the flatbed or the ADP, which are separate. If it is a bit of dirt or paper, I can't figure out where it would be. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I appreciate the reply, but as I said in my original post, I did clean both the flatbed glass and the ADP glass. And as I said, I don't think that is the problem given that the line appears in the exact same place whether I make the copy using the flatbed or the scanner. (Well, not exactly: As you would expect, when using the flatbed, the line is on the left side of the page and when using the ADP feeder, it is on the right side of the page - because of how the page is oriented when going through the ADP feeder.)

Then the scanner lamp is faulty!
Since the printer is no longer under warranty, the question arises: Does it make sense to replace the scanner part?
If the line doesn't bother you, then simply ignore it.
Kind Regards
