HP Ink Jet 6800
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I print lip balm labels as part of my business. There are 12 on a sheet (4 rows of 3) . There are ALWAYS lines going through the first 3 labels. The rest are okay. I have even tried not putting anything in the first row and filling up the other 9 labels and printing....there are no lines in any of them. Its always JUST that first row? I have cleaned my rollers. I have been trying to find an answer for a long time and nobody seems to be able to help. I hate to get another new printer as other than this problem I have had good luck with it. HELP!

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet 6800 Printer. I understand that you are getting print quality issue while printing labels and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Check the print settings.

Print and evaluate a diagnostic page, and then troubleshoot defects.

Use an automated tool to align the printhead.

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon (). The Setup menu displays.

  3. Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  4. Touch Align Printhead.

  5. After the printer prints the alignment page, touch OK, and then recycle or discard the alignment page.

  6. Print another Print Quality Diagnostic Page to see if the issue is resolved.

Click here and refer the document to perform above steps.

Let  me know how it goes.

Cheers.
