My 8600 recently went through a series of notices rejecting all of my working cartridges. I tried to reset it but only got the animated screen message to insert the setup cartridges "that are in the box."  My 8600 is 9 years old and those setup carts are long gone. Several informed employee-techs on this forum privately suggested several ways to bypass this requirement under similar circumstances. Can anyone give me a clue how I might get beyond the untimely requirement for new setup carts for my 9-year old HP 8600?  The printer worked just fine until a recent HP urgent software upgrade.
