Hi @Rudnick1950

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you’ve lost the print function on your printer while other functions are still working, here are some steps to help you restore it:

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your computer (if using Wi-Fi).
  • Check for any error messages or lights on the printer itself.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer and computer. Wait a minute, then turn them back on. This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Reconnect the Printer:

  • If your printer is connected via USB, try unplugging it and plugging it back in. For network printers, you may need to reconnect to the Wi-Fi.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners on your computer.
  • Select your printer and click Remove device. Then, reinstall the printer either by using the Add a printer or scanner option or by downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

Check Printer Queue:

  • Open the Devices and Printers section in the Control Panel (or Settings).
  • Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing. If there are stuck jobs, cancel them and try printing again.

Set as Default Printer:

  • In Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, ensure your printer is set as the default printer.

Run Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Run the Printer troubleshooter to detect and fix any issues.

Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the print function. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
