I am replacing a CF248A toner cartridge with a factory sealed CF248A toner cartridge and I get a flashing orange light. In the printer control app I note that the cause is a Supply Memory Error. I am quite sure that I have properly removed the sealing tape and all the orange pieces. I have performed a factory reset on the printer. I have searched the internet for a solution to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

You may have read this already but it is all i can find.

if you put the old toner back in does the error disappear? if so, I would return the toner for an exchange.

I'll answer my own question. Replacing the chip worked for me, though pulling the old chip out wasn't as easy as shown here:

Thanks, that was actually interesting.
Your old chip went into the new toner?
I would have guessed the printer would say the toner was empty! I wonder if resetting the printer also reset the ink count level?
On occasion I use a really cheap toner in my CM1415. There is a complaint on the info page the toner is not recognized but it works. The worst that happens is the ink powder leaks due to a poorly sealed refill hole.

Yes, I pulled the chip out of the old cartridge and put it in the new cartridge and it worked perfectly. When I run the HP Toolbox in the printer app it says that the toner level is low but it does not seem to impact printing.
It's just amazing that the dominant printer company in the world treats it's customers like this when you try to save a few bucks and not buy their toner refills. Very, very frustrating.
