Printer aborts some jobs and other jobs will print only the first page a multi-page doc -- email from G mail or a G mail exported to pdf. MacBook shows the printer job received (spinning as though it is processing) but job then vanishes before printing has started or after printing just the first page. I have tried rebooting the printer - shut it down and then it may print the email -- but then reverts to stubborn mode and will abort the printing job for that same email it just printed.
Apple says not their problem and they don't fix "printer problems."
Oddly, I did manage to get my old Windows PC to print the emails every time -- though the printer acted strangely taking long pauses after each page it was printing.
HP Color laser Jet Pro MFP M281 fdw Printer is a 2019 vintage.
Is this a printer driver problem? Or what ? Where do I get the software to fix this (HP I assume)?

@rocqy, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Are you able to print from other applications?
If yes, follow the steps below-
This could be an issue with the driver settings or the installed drivers, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-
Check the settings before you send the print job. Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) for help.
Ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
Remove and add the printer
Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.
Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.
Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.
Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint
Click Add to add the printer to the list.
Try to print.

Thanks for the help but I am stuck trying to make HP Easy Start run (or install) the driver. My Mac and printer are connected with USB all the time, so I did not want to bother setting up wireless. But I am getting a message that my "device is not connected to internet." Obviously my Mac IS connected to the internet, while the HP printer is not.
What do I need to do? If I need to go into the wireless set up, I will do that — but how do I find my IP address for the HP printer??

Refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help in connecting the printer to the network.
If you still have issues, use the guided troubleshooter Troubleshooting | Wireless Printing Center for instruction to isolate and resolve the issue.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

TEJ, my HP printer is still not printing emails from MacBook Mail or even emails Exported to pdf or png files (screen shots). To recap what I told you earlier: The emails (**bleep**), pdf and png files WILL NOT print on this printer (this M281fdw -- it is registered by serial no on your HP support dashboard) from Mail, the MacBook program that houses my two **bleep** accounts.
The MacBook is 3 months old, I have updated the OS to Big Sur 11.2.2. I also spent 4 hours with an Apple Senior Advisor trying numerous fixes -- to no avail. Yes, as you directed, with the Apple support advisor, I installed and reinstalled Air Print and Air Print and USB cable to my printer are both working to print docs from Pages docs and other applications like Notes.
Apple and I did everything he could think of short of reinstalling the operating system. So I don't know what to think. Why can't this barely 2-year-old HP printer print an email or a pdf from a new MacBook that has been fully trouble-shot?
These emails WILL print from my MacBook Mail on 5-month old HP7855 that my friend has -- that HP printer is not on my network.
These emails WILL print from my from my Windows PC from Google Chrome **bleep** account.
What can be done about this?
