I have received a Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer yesterday.
The power light indicator blinks when the printer is in standby.
Where is the option to disable this as it is disturbing, increases the power consumption as a multifunctional device with a fax option will almost never been turned off at all. So this is on 24/7 365 days per year.
There have been discussions on other products with the same issue more that 6 years ago in HP moderated forums.
A firmware update by R&D should be able to solve this with an option in the configuration within 10 mins and the user has the control on this effect. Including the testing of that firmware this should be a 2 day job.
Think about the amount of HP products in the market that could save a lot of power for our environment.
Hope for a qualified feedback by a HP rep.

Are you kidding?
Do you really ask me to turn of a fax machine and network device?
It is not just a simple local printer.
HP sells this device for groups up to 10 users.
Sorry back to the beginning and start again to escalate this issue.
Please involve your marketing also for the environmental aspect.

So you will pay the money for the electricity.
This will gibe a bad reputation in wasting energy.
So I will go for a full refund and share this as an example for a very bad customer support.
