HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The control panel on my Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw has suddenly become "washed out"--not fully black or fully white, just pale. I can still faintly see the icons, etc. The printer prints and scans fine. The problem arose sometime after December 10 or so.

I have checked for updated firmware; disconnected and discharged power; run Print & Scan Doctor without success.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's a defective control panel it happens on that model.

Thank you for your reply. I have an extended warranty, perhaps it will cover replacement.

Based on this model's history, do you know whether the control panel would persist in its current, faint state or whether it will totally go out at some point?

It will go totally white with time

Of course 🙂

I'll pursue the extended warranty coverage.

Thank you for your input.
