We are getting an event code 57.07.00. From the research we’ve done, it looks like it is a fan. We have the printer covers off and both of the lower right hand side fans appear to turn. Is there a specific fan that this code is indicating?

Does this reference a specific fan and part number?

Hello @California100 ,

Here’s what we can tell based on the HP forum discussion and known HP 57-series fan error patterns — specifically for event code 57.07.00 you’re seeing.

  • 57 = Fan error category. This means the printer has detected a problem with a cooling/ventilation fan. HP Support

  • The digits after the decimal (like .07) are intended to indicate which specific fan it’s referring to, though HP does not publicly document exact mappings for all models.

The fault could also be a connection issue between the fan and the main logic (DC Controller), not just the fan itself — this is documented for other 57.x errors.

  • 57.07.00 = fan failure error from printer diagnostics.

  • It doesn’t indicate a printhead or cartridge issue.

  • There isn’t a simple public mapping to a specific fan part number without the exact printer model.

  • It’s likely the fan tied to that code isn’t running as expected or has a connection issue.

What to check next,

1️⃣ Confirm behavior during startup

  • Power off the printer fully.

  • Turn it back on and listen carefully for all fans (some only spin briefly at boot).

  • If one fan never spins or spins inconsistently → that could be the issue.

2️⃣ Check the fan connectors and cables

  • Sometimes a fan isn’t faulty but its connector (on the fan or DC controller board) is loose or corroded. Re-seating these connectors can fix 57 errors.

3️⃣ Replace the problematic fan
