I have read another thread with the exact same problem, experienced by many. I have an HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdn from 2020. It worked OK with the supplied demo cartridges, but immediately after purchasing new cartridges, started having problems recognizing the Cyan cartridge. Right now, with all newly installed cartridges, I am getting an error reading that says "The indicated supplies are not communicating correctly with the printer. Try reinstalling the supply to continue." I have takent the cartridges out and shaken them, put back in, cleaned the chip with rubbiing alcohol, rebooted the printer several times, changed to settings so that it will continue - nothing.
I have read that this may be due to a bad circuit board. This printer was delivered late due to COVID supply chain issues and is now out of warranty. If anyone has a solution, please let me know. At this point, I have a large piece of unusable junk for my school Library. I'm more than a little upset, reading all the other exact problems people have had.
