I have an Enterprise MF M528 printer that is stuck in the initializing mode.  I have turned it off several times, I have reset router and computers it is wired into and it still is stuck in intializing mode.  Any suggestions on what to do to resolve this issue?

Most likely you have a failing or failed hard drive. You can run diagnostics from the pre-boot menu to test the drive. Before you do, remove the formatter cover and look to see if there is a 2.5" hardrive installed. If there is, when you run diagnostics, skip the Emmc test as it will fail anyway. If the drive is a Toshiba model, it is likely dead. Note that you will need to use a Self Encrypting spinning disk hard drive, these devices are not rated to support SSD drives and my experience is they do not.

The firmware update readme file contains instructions on entering the preboot menu.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I had to seek help from the HP support center.  They were successful in getting the printer out of the initializing black hole with a sequence I was not aware of.  Then we had to reload the printer into my computer and reestablish the connection to the computer.
