We have a M604 with the message in display "Do Not Trust Media"  #Algeria. This is a payroll printer. Is this something to worry about? We have taken it offline and powered it off.  I could really use some help on this one. Please.

Repairatrooper,

First, thank you very much for the reply. I was afraid that was the case. I am part of our IT department so we are going over all switches logs as I thank you. I have worked with copiers and printers since the early 90's. Xerox in D.C.,  I knew I had never seen a message like that before.

Second, we have the printers in their own  vlan so we are pretty sure access would be contained. We accessed all logs, printer and network. Took printer offline, updated firmware and changed printer password.

I want to thank you for the help and confirmation of our concerns.

That is not a normal message and it appears that someone has hacked your printer and replaced the standard ready message with this "warning". If that is the case would be concerned about your entire network. Have you notified your IT SUPPORT about this issue?
