HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw

My Color Laserjet M255DW has completely stopped working.  When I power on the printer all seems normal, but I am unable to print and if when try (or even just wait a few moments) the printer completely restarts and the process repeats,

Occasionally I will see a "error 79, turn off and on message" but it's not consistent, and turning the machine off and on doesn't help.

Of course, the thing is like 6 months out of warranty.

Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Hello @bryancain ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Install the latest firmware: HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw Printer Firmware Update Utility.

Be sure to read the instructions, "Expand all".

Recommendation: use a USB connection!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Unfortunately, reinstalling the latest firmware did not help.  However, as I look at it, the latest firmware was released right around when this started happening, and my printer is set to auto-update.

Do you know, is there somewhere I can download old versions of the firmware?

Resetting the printer (via "restore defaults" on the device menu) and disabling IPV6 seems to have solved the problem.  Thanks!
